We all know that Wii has been winning all sales record beating Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. But do you also know that Wii is the only console that is earning a profit from each console that they are selling, while PS3 and Xbox 360 are still losing money from each console sold and have to depend on games and proprietary license fees to cover their expenses?
According to Nikko Citigroup games analyst Fukuda, the company isn’t making that much money on each Wii sold in Japan. Accordingly, in terms of number:
1. Japan - Nintendo only makes 1,500 Yen (or $13 US) on each console sold.
2. United States - Nintendo makes 5,600 yen ($49) in profit.
3. Europe, Nintendo makes 8,500 yen ($74) profit.
