What The Heck Is Remote Play?

I’m sure I’ve never heard of this before. So what is this? Is it something like remote desktop in windows, but just that Remote Play is meant only for PSP or PS3? Let’s find out.

The answer
Simply put, Remote Play is a feature that lets gamers share content between their PlayStation 3 and PSP, locally using the devices’ in-built wireless features or remotely via an access point (Now isn’t that cool!).

Numerous videos emerged over the weekend showing what appeared to be PS3 dragon-themed aerial combat title Lair being played on PSP. While these videos on the likes of YouTube set the PlayStation forums alight, many gamers were skeptical.

However, it’s still up in the air now as to whether the in-built Remote Play functionality restricts access to media content such as music and videos from the PS3’s hard drive.
