Wii Tops Six Months Sales

Is Nintendo going to be the king in next generation console gaming? The bar chart says it all.

us console sales bar chart figures

In terms of numbers:

1. Wii (2,470,000)
2. PS2 (2,200,000)
3. Xbox (1,900,000)
4. GameCube (1,540,000)
5. Xbox 360 (1,384,000)
6. PS3 (1,271,000)

I’m not at all surprised that Wii has gain the largest sales volumes. What amazed me is that, for whatever reasons, the gamecube has climbed on top of Xbox 360 and PS3 to land at a nice number 4 spot. Heck, I didn’t even know that Gamecube was still alive and even deleted the gamecube category in my website! (duh!)

Seems to me that there are a huge amount of people are picking up cheap (i mean inexpensive) stuffs and choose older generation (PS2 and Xbox) of the console of the newest (PS3 and Xbox 360).

Kinda sad to see PS3 is last in the list (they were the king with PS2 anywhere). Innovation continues and this time, I would say that Nintendo has proven themselves by being creative and innovative. Kudos to Nintendo.
