Supported Media Formats on Playstation 3

Will you put a couple hundreds of bucks just to get a machine to play some games? Of course not! Apart from playing games, there must be some other stuffs that users will hope the playstation 3 will have (besides the blu-ray player and cell chip), namely the types of media formats that it supports.

The Xbox 360 will be the frst to be able to download HD movies, in their service known as Xbox Live Video. This update enables customers to spend their Microsoft points on standard and HD television from CBS, MTV, Comedy Central, VH1, Turner, and UFC, as well as HD movies from Warner Bros., Paramount, and so on.

Imagine playing games with Wii high definition TV in 480 via progressive scan! To do that, you've got to buy these so called "Wii Component Cable". The cables, whcih cost $29.99 will only be available online at major retail stores such as Nintendo's store (who else?), Best Buy, Circuit City and EB games.
