We know that Xbox 360 faces a severe shortage in US, and the same thing happened for the Nintendo DS in Japan. However, Nintendo’s reaction towards the problem was different.

  • Unlike Microsoft, Nintendo did not issue a press release to say their production figures were on target.
  • Nintendo did not blame the advanced features of the DS as a reason for delays.
  • Nintendo did not conduct an interview suggesting people should understand that manufacturing an electronics product was not like baking bread.
  • Nintendo did not advertise on their website “Nintendo DS now in Stores”.
  • Nintendo did not advertise their product on Television, when there were none available.
  • Instead Nintendo apologised. Tips for Microsoft: Learn from Nintendo!
