We know that Xbox 360 faces a severe shortage in US, and the same thing happened for the Nintendo DS in Japan. However, Nintendo’s reaction towards the problem was different.
Unlike Microsoft, Nintendo did not issue a press release to say their production figures were on target.
Nintendo did not blame the advanced features of the DS as a reason for delays.
Nintendo did not conduct an interview suggesting people should understand that manufacturing an electronics product was not like baking bread.
Nintendo did not advertise on their website “Nintendo DS now in Stores”.
Nintendo did not advertise their product on Television, when there were none available.
Instead Nintendo apologised. Tips for Microsoft: Learn from Nintendo!
